Manufacturer's description
Approach to even bigger fish. Shore jigging rod with realistic lure operability and strong lift power.
DRAGGER
DAIWA's Rock Shore Shore Jigging Rod "DRAGGER." "DRAGGER" means "to pull strongly." The shore jigging fight style involves tightening the drag to the limit and using the rod's bend to lift the bluefish. In this extreme contest, the rod must be an absolutely reliable partner. Continuously refined and evolved at the fishing site, we want you to face big fish with all your might using this rod.
Authentic series "SX"
The "SX" series is a high-level rock shore shore jigging rod series ideal for those seeking big fish. Its development concept has two parts. One is the same as the high-end "BREAKTHROUGH": high operability that makes the tide flow over jigs and plugs look alluring and easy to move. The other is the unique strength of "SX": the rod's firm follow-through and bending in response to the bluefish's pull reduce the angler's burden while preventing the fish from escaping by maintaining drag. "SX" has a completely different character from "BREAKTHROUGH." It is no longer just a second line; "SX" has reached a level of its own.
Specification details
Blank that balances operability and power
Designed to bring out the ideal action of jigs and plugs while allowing easy casting and lure operation with light force. During fights, the rod bends and follows the pull of bluefish, reducing the angler's burden while keeping the fish from escaping by maintaining the drag. It is an ideal action for anglers inexperienced with big fish fights.
Detailed grip specifications
For high-power models, CC GRIP (Complete Control Grip) is used. The vertically elliptical fore grip enhances rod hold during power fights. During extreme fights, it allows smoother fish retrieval. The groove on the front side improves hold when moving the lure, reducing unnecessary force on the hand and fatigue.
Dedicated guide setting
Uses stainless frame SiC guides. Significantly reduces line tangles during actual fishing in headwinds. Main KW guides, lighter LKW guides for light concept models, and lightweight single-foot K guides near the tip for jig concept models improve operability. Heavily loaded rods use MN guide specifications. JS model emphasizes sensitivity and operability, with lightweight single-foot K guides on the tip. Be cautious: using a full cast with a large line system may cause damage.
Light concept
An item with the nimble operability similar to a seabass rod, suitable for casting 30-40g metal jigs, blades, and set-up lures for technical exploration. The stage for the light concept rod is shallow breakwaters where anglers focus. The blank's stiffness enhances casting distance. It approaches further than competitors and improves jig control, responding to all kinds of jigs. The tip is set to be flexible, allowing natural swimming of minnows and seamless bites from bluefish. To achieve lighter operation, the grip and other specifications are designed with a center of gravity shifted forward. The tip guide uses lightweight LKW guides. The reel seat is slim and easy to grip, using Air Sensor Standard, prioritizing handling.
All-round concept
An all-round concept that is easy to use with both plugs and jigs. The tip suppresses the rise of diving pencils from the water surface and achieves optimal water absorption on the body, enabling lively movement. The belly has the optimal stiffness for light and smooth lure retrieval. It blends with waves and currents to bring out the lure's natural action. Using metal jigs between plugs to grasp current conditions is now common, and the rod's operability is also refined. Designed with a powerful blank for big game. All guides are stainless double-foot guides. The fore grip features the CC grip for powerful fights.
Jigging concept
The unique item exclusive to "DRAGGER" is this Jig Special. Its taper allows for light and lively jigging all day. The taper is optimized to prevent excessive wobbling of the jig, enabling precise control of rhythm and action, even for reluctant bluefish. The tip is lightweight and optimized for sensitivity, allowing detection of changes in tide and bluefish pursuit. It helps quickly identify the timing and actively engage in the bite. The design prioritizes jig control and information gathering, with the tip equipped with lightweight single-foot K guides. When a big fish bites, the load smoothly transfers to the butt, and combined with the CC grip, it enables powerful fights.
Technology Light Concept
X45
A structure that prevents twisting, revolutionizing power and operability.
Conventional structure: Carbon fibers are wound at 0° and 90° angles on the rod tip with Daiwa's original Bias Cross 45 to prevent twisting, greatly improving power, operability, and sensitivity.
V-JOINT
Smooth bending of the joint realizes ideal action and enhanced power. The joint uses Daiwa's original bias structure. It allows smooth bending at the joint, improving power, response, and sensitivity.
HVF NANOPLUS
High-density HVF carbon, which reduces resin amount and increases the density of carbon fibers, is suitable for rods emphasizing toughness and strength. Combining Toray's NanoAlloy R technology with Daiwa's proprietary manufacturing enables further high strength and lightweight design.
Item variations
100ML: A light model perfect for port areas, suitable for 30g-class metal jigs, small minnows, and top plugs. It maintains sufficient blank power for long-distance casting and fighting bluefish, with a slim, easy-to-hold, lightweight, and well-balanced design. The tip is light, and lure operability is excellent. It can technically lure mackerel, yellowtail, and saury. Suitable for rocky areas and surf.
100M: A center item for port areas, capable of handling frequently used 40g-class jigs with sharp operation and excellent weight balance. Despite its slim and lightweight design, it has a strong butt to handle yellowtail and kingfish, and can also handle 12cm minnows and blades.
106M: A long model that excels in long-distance casting and sensitivity for lightweight lures. Ideal for controlling and thoroughly exploring with minnows and blades in port areas. Its range control is easy, and it can catch more bites. The blank's toughness prevents breakage, and it has a strong butt capable of handling yellowtail and kingfish despite its lightweight design.
98MH JS: A jigging special model that brings out the movement and sensitivity of jigs, suitable for high-pressure port areas. Its unique tip design clearly detects underwater information transmitted from the jig and line, enabling accurate action matching to appeal to bluefish. The taper bends into the blank, allowing easy and light jigging, and has enough power to lift fish hit near the bottom.
100MH: A breakwater special suitable from shallow areas to rapid currents. Designed for plugging with diving pencils around 16cm. The flexible tip suppresses misdives of pencils, creating alluring movements. It also handles small poppers and jigs.
95H JS: A jigging special model with a light and controllable feel. Its unique tip design clearly detects underwater information transmitted from the jig, enabling accurate action matching to appeal to bluefish. The taper bends into the blank, allowing easy and light jigging, and has enough power to lift fish hit near the bottom. Ideal for areas with depth and fast currents using heavy jigs.
100H: An entry item for rock shore, targeting yellowtail with plugging. The flexible tip suppresses misdives of pencils, creating alluring movements. It handles diving pencils around 19cm, medium-sized poppers, and jigs.
100HH: An item for targeting large yellowtail with excellent control performance. Designed for about 20cm diving pencils, it suppresses misdives with a flexible tip, and also handles large poppers and jigs.
98H-3: A versatile model with nimble handling capable of handling plugs around 19cm and jigs around 80g.
