The basic performance required for the SALTIGA series has been refined with the next-generation bait reel technology "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN." Furthermore, by modifying the key "HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR" to increase the gear tooth width, it demonstrates smooth and powerful rotation performance from low to high loads. This allows confrontation with larger bluefish and bottom fish. Additionally, it reduces the load on anglers during deep-sea fishing, enabling them to experience rotation performance exceeding that of the 21 SALTIGA IC. Moreover, it is equipped with anodized protection, the first in DAIWA's IC counter reels, which allows maintaining initial performance for a longer period. The SALTIGA IC 100/300-C supports "DAIWA CONNECTED," which connects to smartphones. The water depth and line length, previously only detectable via IC counter and depth alarm, can now be checked via wearable or hearable devices, allowing for optimization according to the angler's style. Furthermore, with the depth display function for dory fishing, the position of the lure can be more accurately grasped. This enhancement of basic performance and the "improvement of fishing accuracy" through DAIWA CONNECTED will be a powerful weapon to outsmart fish and encounter large, unseen fish.

DAIWA CONNECTED

DAIWA CONNECTED aims to provide new value in fishing scenes through "easy setup," "technological evolution," and "new experiences." DAIWA CONNECTED consists of "electric mobile setting" and "DAIWA Connecting System," which connect reels to smartphones. The "DAIWA Connecting System," one of DAIWA CONNECTED, is installed in bait dual-axis reels and wakasagi reels. It supports wireless connection, and reels with the suffix "-C" at the end of their model name connect with compatible reels, enabling function updates and data retrieval from the reel. Additionally, in spring 2025, new functions linked with wearable devices, sub-displays, and hearables were released. The concept of DAIWA CONNECTED brings new value to fishing scenes and further expands the enjoyment of fishing.

Electronic drag sound

"Smoother. High-performance drag of the next-generation bait reel." Features detect spool rotation and convey drag operation with an "electronic sound." The traditional mechanical drag click plays an important role in communicating drag operation to the angler. However, the ratchet structure inside the drive gear and the sound-emitting pin structure generate physical resistance. By removing this mechanical structure and installing "electronic drag sound," both smooth drag performance and more audible drag sounds are achieved.

The electronic drag sound on the SALTIGA IC 100/300-C allows selection of three types of drag electronic sounds.

Synchronous level wind

"Significantly enhances drag performance." The synchronous level wind is a mechanism where, when line is released, the level wind synchronizes with the line position and follows left and right. Benefits include less resistance during line release and improved smoothness during drag operation.

Anode protection (photo shows 25 SALTIGA 35).

Anode protection is a technology that mitigates metal corrosion. Also called sacrificial anode, where zinc (the anode) corrodes instead of the metal. By installing this technology in the reel, corrosion is concentrated on the anode plate to maintain durability. Replacement of the anode protection plate on the 25 SALTIGA IC 100/300-C cannot be performed by the customer. The anode protection plate does not prevent all rust or corrosion of the entire reel. It is not maintenance-free. It is a consumable; continued use will lead to further corrosion, which is normal. Do not paint or apply coatings to the anode protection plate, as this will negate its anti-corrosion effect. The corrosion rate of the anode protection plate varies depending on usage. Please read the "Important Maintenance Method" in the instruction manual and rinse with water as soon as possible after use.

Self-replaceable batteries

"Immediate battery replacement response to unexpected battery depletion." Equipped with a waterproof battery cover resistant to scratches and other damage. No special tools required; with just a coin, it can be quickly opened and closed, allowing for self-replacement of batteries. Also, removing the battery does not require re-inputting the line. Battery type: CR2032 coin cell.
