HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR

A newly designed gear system in bait (dual-axis) reels that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. The gear module (size) that directly affects durability is kept small to increase mesh ratio, achieving long-lasting initial smoothness with DAIWA's proprietary technology.


HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT

A drive support system that realizes sustained smoothness and strong, lightweight winding. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two high-precision ball bearings, it reduces input from the handle, allowing powerful and easy winding even under load.


HYPER ARMED HOUSING

A body system that supports internal structure with high rigidity and high precision, producing delicate winding feel and power. Using metal material for the frame is essential, and in combination with side plates and set plates, it enables the basic performance to be maintained longer.


HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH

What can be done with the DAIWA app









Product registration and initial setup

From the top of the DAIWA app, select DAIWA CONNECTING-SYSTEM, put your IM Z into pairing mode, and register the product. There are three settings: decide on an original registration name, set the line to be wound on the reel. Then tap Brake Mode PE/BRAID, LONG CAST, MAX BRAKE to activate, enabling data transmission to the reel.

Line and thread settings must be correctly configured, or data discrepancies may occur.


MyHistory

Start from this screen after registration. MyHistory records the dates when IM Z was used, managed centrally via timeline/calendar display. By selecting the displayed date and time, you can view total casts, top 5 distances, and other fishing data for that day. When managing multiple IM Z units, detailed data for each registered unit can be checked.

The distance is a reference value based on line release amount. Differences may occur depending on line and thread settings.


MyData

A screen mainly aggregating data linked to the angler. Displays cumulative data after extensive use of IM Z. Shows total casts, maximum distance, top 5 distances, brake mode usage ratio, monthly fishing history, and earned badges. Badges are special awards given when certain conditions like number of trips or total casts are met.

Setting

A screen for detailed settings mainly for each registered IM Z reel. Used for changing reel settings, registration info, updates, etc. Additional units can also be registered through this screen. Also used to update line information after re-spooling or changes in line condition. Brake settings allow confirmation of brake mode characteristics and will be used when new brake modes are delivered.

INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE

INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE, hereafter IM, is a digital control brake system that responds to various lures and situations by selecting and switching between brake modes with different characteristics, also providing maximum distance (MAX). It is extendable via DAIWA CONNECTING-SYSTEM, allowing wireless installation of new brake modes onto the reel, representing next-generation brake technology.


TWS

TWS reduces resistance at the spool near the line guide where spool rotation speed peaks, promising less backlash and a comfortable fishing experience. It enables longer casts, better control, faster falls, and fewer backlashes. TWS enhances all basic performance aspects of baitcasting reels.


ATD

Eliminates initial bite when the drag starts to work, providing smoothness without unevenness, and increases drag force as tightened, ensuring reliable performance.









LED

Equipped with a 4-LED LED on the side plate for grip. The LED color, number of lights, and notification sounds display current mode and status.

Charging mode indicator: Green 1-4 lights (red 1 light when battery is nearly empty)
Brake mode: Light blue 1-4 lights (initial setting: STANDARD mode)
Mag dial value: Light blue 1-4 lights, including flashing, 8 levels of setting
Indicator: White 1 light for brake mode change (not visible at shipment), White 2 lights for shutdown

Control switch

A control switch is placed on the grip side plate. With a single operation, it can start up, shut down, set brake force, and change brake modes. The combination of LED color and sound enhances ease of use. Various mode settings are possible with short or long presses.


Battery charging

Since the device includes a battery, charging is necessary. There is a connection terminal behind the grip side plate. Open the protective cap cover of the connection terminal, connect the included charging cable straight and firmly into the terminal, and charge. The connection terminal is waterproof. Ensure the device is dry before charging. Do not charge if wet. After charging, close the protective cap.



One full charge supports about one day of fishing. Based on manufacturer testing standards, this data is not guaranteed. Approximately 700 consecutive casts are possible. When the battery runs out, the brake defaults to MAGFORCE. Even if the battery is exhausted, casting and winding are possible as usual. The brake dial is fixed at MAX value of MAGFORCE brake when the battery is depleted. When the battery is empty, logs cannot be recorded.
