Thanks to a new IM platform that greatly improves casting accuracy and battery life, it delivers excellent performance with each cast. Evolved into a powerful model suitable for a wide range from medium to long distances. The features of the IM Z series include an evolving brake mode. Starting with four brake modes, all casting data accumulated with the IM Z series are thoroughly analyzed and fed back to support φ34mm spool compatibility. DAIWA CONNECTED aims to bring new value to the fishing scene by realizing "easy setup," "functional evolution," and "new experiences." DAIWA CONNECTED consists of "electric mobile setting" and "DAIWA connecting system," two technologies representing a reel that connects to a smartphone. The "DAIWA connecting system," one of the DAIWA CONNECTED features, is installed on baitcasting reels and wakasagi reels. Reels with a wireless connection capability and a "-C" suffix at the end of the product name can be linked to update functions and check data obtained from the reel by pairing with the DAIWA app. Furthermore, in 2025, new functions linked with wearable devices, sub-displays, and hearables were released. The concept of DAIWA CONNECTED brings new value to the fishing scene and further expands the enjoyment of fishing.

Expandable INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE

A brake system that detects spool rotation and digitally controls brake force for each mode. It is possible to instantly switch to completely different brake characteristics using only the control switch located outside the side plate. It features modes optimized for long-distance casting, as well as versatility for adapting to headwinds, air resistance from large lures, and a wide range of lures, all without changing the spool, enabling various casting performances with one reel. This is the appeal and advantage of the IM concept. Moreover, by updating the reel via the DAIWA app, new brake modes can be added and configured. This is a moment when the reel's performance truly grows. Immediately after purchase, the brake mode of the INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE is in the standard mode. To use the PE/braid, long cast, or MAX brake modes, product registration, pairing, and initial setup via the DAIWA app are required.

Innovative new IM unit

Developed a new IM unit exclusive for IM Z TW100-C. Improved basic performance including waterproofing, processing speed, and battery life. In terms of user interface, significantly enhanced operability by improving the ease of pressing and click feeling of the control switch, which was frequently requested for improvement by IM Z users.

High operability

Overall form has been made more compact and low-profile, with the reel weight reduced to 205g. The full aluminum housing achieves a balance of the fundamental performance required for baitcasting reels: a solid feel and smooth rotation.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING FULL AL

In a baitcasting reel structure, the gear that drives the mechanism is the heart, while the frame and housing are the skeleton. The gear that maintains smooth rotation, the high-precision spool that continues to rotate smoothly, and the durable clutch system that operates trouble-free all rely on a sturdy frame that acts as the skeleton. In this series, all parts of the frame, gear side side plate, handle side, and dial side set plate are made of die-cast aluminum alloy with high-precision machine-cut finishing, demonstrating unwavering rigidity. This supports the internal structure with high rigidity and high precision, producing a refined winding feel and high power through the housing system.

High-strength, high-precision solid pinion

In the IM Z TW100-C, a solid pinion (left image) with approximately 23 times the gear strength of the conventional structure pinion (right image) is adopted. This is a DAIWA-unique mechanism made possible by the zero-shaft structure, which does not have a spool shaft, responding to higher gear ratios and providing smooth rotation performance.

φ34mm G1 duralumin IM spool

The quick spool start-up characteristic of the φ34mm spool is a feature of the 100 series. As a result, combined with the effect of the intelligent magforce, it enhances a wide dynamic brake range and high-precision brake control technology. The spool unit alone weighs 8.7g. Compared to the spool used in the 22 ZILLION TW HD1000 equipped with MAG-Z BOOST, it achieves about 34% weight reduction. This not only improves responsiveness but also significantly expands the range of brake characteristic adjustments.

New TWS with approximately 31% larger opening

Aiming to expand line release resistance during casting, i.e., the unresisted range, the TWS, which is a unique technology, has been refined. The new tapered TWS designed for φ34mm/24mm width has an approximately 31% larger opening compared to the previous size. It provides even better line release performance and a "next time I want to cast" feeling.

Battery life improved

In the IM Z TW100-C, not only has the accuracy of the digital control brake been improved, but battery life has also been enhanced through energy saving measures. The new IM unit enables approximately 1,000 casts per full charge. These figures are based on our testing standards aligned with existing market products and may vary depending on usage. When starting from a 0% battery level, a full charge takes about 90 minutes. When the battery runs out, the brake force is fixed at MAX. Even if the battery is depleted, casting and winding are still possible as usual. No log data can be obtained when the battery is empty.

Battery equipped

A connection terminal is located behind the casting side plate. By opening and closing the battery cap on the connection terminal and firmly inserting the included charging cable straight into the terminal, charging is possible. The connection terminal is waterproof. Please ensure the device is not wet during charging. Do not charge if the device is wet. After charging, close the battery cap before use.
