DAIWA CONNECTED aims to provide new value to the fishing scene through 'easy setup,' 'evolved functions,' and 'new experiences.' DAIWA CONNECTED consists of 'electric mobile setting' and 'DAIWA Connecting System,' two technologies that connect a reel to a smartphone. The 'DAIWA Connecting System,' one of the DAIWA CONNECTED features, is installed on baitcasting reels and wakasagi reels. Reels with the suffix '-C' support wireless connection, allowing updates and data retrieval from the reel. Furthermore, in 2025, new functions linked with wearable devices, sub-displays, and hearables were released. Expandable INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE

A brake system that detects spool rotation and digitally controls brake force for each mode. Operated solely via a control switch on the outside of the side plate, it can instantly switch to completely different brake characteristics. It features modes optimized for long-distance casting, as well as versatile performance for adapting to headwinds, air resistance, and various lures without changing the spool, enabling a wide range of casting performance with a single reel. This is the appeal and advantage of the IM concept. Moreover, by updating the reel via the DAIWA app, new brake modes can be added and configured. Innovative new IM unit

Developed a new IM unit exclusive for IM Z TW100-C. Improved basic performance including waterproofing, processing speed, and battery life. In terms of user interface, the control switch's ease of pressing and click feeling, which were frequently requested for improvement by IM Z users, have been significantly enhanced, greatly improving operability.

High operability

The overall form has been made more compact and low-profile, with the reel weight reduced to 205g. The full aluminum housing achieves the fundamental performance required of baitcasting reels—'firmness' and 'smooth rotation'—by using a full aluminum housing.

In bait and spinning reel structures, the gear that drives the mechanism is the heart, while the frame is the skeleton. The gear that maintains smooth rotation, the high-precision spool that continues to rotate smoothly, and the durable clutch system that operates trouble-free all rely on a strong frame that acts as the skeleton. In this series, all parts of the frame, gear side side plate, handle side, and dial side set plate are made of die-cast aluminum alloy with high-precision machining, demonstrating unwavering rigidity. This internal structure is supported by a high-rigidity, high-precision body system that produces a smooth winding feel and high power.

High-strength, high-precision solid pinion gear

In the IM Z TW100-C, compared to the conventional structure pinion gear (left image), a solid pinion gear (right image) with approximately 23 times the gear strength has been adopted. This is a DAIWA-unique mechanism made possible by the zero-shaft structure, which does not have a spool shaft, responding to higher gear ratios and providing smooth rotation performance.

φ34mm G1 duralumin IM spool

The quick response characteristic of the φ34mm spool is a feature of the 100 series. As a result, combined with the Intelligent Magforce, it has been refined with a wide dynamic brake range and high-precision brake control technology. The spool unit alone weighs 8.7g. Compared to the spool used in the MAG-Z BOOST-equipped 22 ZILLION TW HD1000, it achieves about 34% weight reduction. This not only enhances responsiveness but also significantly expands the range of brake characteristics, representing a major evolution.

New TWS with approximately 31% larger opening

Aiming to expand line release resistance during casting, i.e., the unresisted range, the unique TWS technology has been refined. The new tapered TWS designed for φ34mm/24mm width has an approximately 31% larger opening compared to the previous size. This provides even better line release performance and a casting feel that makes you want to throw again and again.

Battery life improved

In the IM Z TW100-C, not only has the digital brake control accuracy been improved, but battery life has also been extended through energy-saving measures. With the new IM unit, about 1,000 casts can be made on a full charge. These figures are based on our testing standards aligned with existing market products and may vary depending on usage; they are not guaranteed. When starting from a depleted battery, a full charge takes about 90 minutes. When the battery runs out, the brake force is fixed at MAX. Even if the battery is depleted, casting and winding are still possible. No log data can be obtained when the battery is empty.

Battery equipped

There is a connection terminal behind the casting side plate. By opening the battery cap on the connection terminal and connecting the included charging cable straight and firmly into the terminal, charging is possible. The connection terminal is waterproof. Please ensure the device is not wet during charging. Do not charge if the device is wet. After charging, close the battery cap before use.
