Thanks to the new IM platform that significantly improves casting accuracy and battery life, it delivers excellent performance with each cast. DAIWA CONNECTED aims to bring new value to the fishing scene by realizing "easy setup," "evolved functions," and "new experiences." DAIWA CONNECTED consists of "electric mobile setting" and "DAIWA Connecting System," two technologies that connect a reel to a smartphone. The "DAIWA Connecting System," one of the DAIWA CONNECTED features, is installed on baitcasting reels and wakasagi reels. Reels with the suffix -C that support wireless connection can be linked with the "DAIWA Connecting System" to update functions and check data obtained from the reel. Furthermore, in 2025, new functions linked with wearable devices, sub-displays, and hearables will be released. The concept of DAIWA CONNECTED brings new value to the fishing scene and further expands the enjoyment of fishing.

Expandable INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE

A brake system that detects spool rotation and digitally controls brake force for each mode. It is possible to instantly switch to completely different brake characteristics with just the control switch operation located outside the side plate. Not only modes optimized for long-distance casting but also versatile performance that adapts to headwinds, air resistance, and various lures without changing the spool, maximizing casting performance with a single reel. This is the appeal and advantage of the IM concept. Moreover, by updating the reel via the DAIWA app, new brake modes can be added and configured. This is a moment when the reel’s performance itself grows. Immediately after purchase, the brake mode of the INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE is in the standard mode. To use PE/braid, long cast, or MAX brake modes, product registration, pairing, and initial setup via the DAIWA app are required.

Innovative new IM unit

Developed a new IM unit dedicated to IM Z TW100-C. Improved basic performance such as waterproofing, processing speed, and battery life. In terms of user interface, significantly enhanced operability by improving the ease of pressing and click feeling of the control switch, which was a common user request.

High operability

The overall form has been made more compact and low-profile, with the reel weight reduced to 205g. The full aluminum housing achieves a balance of the essential performance for baitcasting reels: a solid feel and smooth rotation.

In bait and spinning reel structures, the gear that drives the mechanism is the heart, while the frame is the skeleton. The gear with smooth rotation, high-precision spool that continues to rotate smoothly, and durable clutch system that operates without trouble all perform their best thanks to a sturdy frame. In this series, all parts of the frame, gear side side plate, handle side, and dial side set plate are made of die-cast aluminum alloy with high-precision machining, demonstrating unwavering rigidity. This supports the internal structure with high rigidity and high precision, producing a refined winding feel and high power through the housing system.

High-strength, high-precision solid pinion gear

In the IM Z TW100-C, a solid pinion gear (left image) that improves gear strength by approximately 23% compared to the conventional structure (right image) is adopted. Because the spool shaft itself does not exist—zero-shaft structure—this is a unique mechanism by DAIWA, enabling higher gear ratios and smooth rotation performance.

φ34mm G1 duralumin IM spool

The quick spool start characteristic of the φ34mm spool is a feature of the 100 series. As a result, combined with the Intelligent Magforce, it enhances a wide dynamic brake range and high-precision brake technology. The spool unit alone weighs 8.7g. Compared to the spool used in the MAG-Z BOOST-equipped 22 ZILLION TW HD1000, about 34% lighter, achieving high responsiveness and expanded brake characteristic adjustments.

New TWS with approximately 31% larger opening

Aiming to expand the resistance-free range during line release at cast, the unique TWS technology has been refined. The new tapered TWS designed for φ34mm/24mm width has an approximately 31% larger opening compared to the previous size. This provides even better line release performance and a cast feel that makes you want to throw again and again.

Battery life improved

In the IM Z TW100-C, not only has the digital control brake's accuracy been improved, but energy-saving measures have also been implemented to extend battery life. With the new IM unit, approximately 1,000 casts per full charge can be achieved. These figures are based on our testing standards aligned with market performance and may vary depending on usage; they are not guaranteed. When starting from a depleted battery, full charge is achieved in about 90 minutes. When the battery runs out, the brake force is fixed at MAX. Even if the battery is exhausted, casting and winding are still possible. No log data can be obtained when the battery is empty.

Battery included

There is a connection terminal behind the side plate on the casting side. By opening and closing the battery cap on the connection terminal and firmly inserting the included charging cable straight into the terminal, charging is possible. The connection terminal is waterproof. Please ensure the device is dry during charging. Do not charge if the device is wet. After charging, close the battery cap before use.
