◆ A collection of visual music works by Mina Kubota, the composer who gained attention for "Gegege no Nyobo," Volume 1.
◆ The latest drama music work, NHK Saturday Drama Special "Shimei to Tamashii no Limit" (aired on November 5 and 12)
Including insert songs, a moving work decorated with a unique worldview!

In the field of visual music such as dramas and movies, Mina Kubota, a talented composer and pianist, is currently attracting the most attention. Among the numerous visual music works she has created, she selects songs that match the album theme, and plans to re-record and remix them, releasing them on CD. This work is the first volume, "Crystal Tales," featuring mainly songs written for suspense dramas. These dramas are not just about solving mysteries or good versus evil, but depict human flaws and multifaceted nature. The music by Mina Kubota that colors these works has a layered charm, overflowing with tension, and above all, is beautiful.

It is recent memory that NHK's morning serial drama "Gegege no Nyobo," for which Mina Kubota composed music, recorded a social phenomenon-level hit in 2010. The organic score there and the cool, urban sound in this album may be considered contrasting in a certain sense. However, the noble and refined resonance common to both can be said to be uniquely hers. It is an exquisite instrumental album that transcends the frame of music for visuals and reaches into the listener's heart.

Mina Kubota / Comment
"When working on music for serious visual works, I express the deep-seated emotions like the swell of feelings deep inside a person. While struggling with the subtle nuances of these shades, I find immense joy and interest in turning multifaceted emotions into sound. Perhaps this is what I most wanted to express. The sounds naturally come to mind, and as they accumulate through many works, I have always wanted to shape these kinds of songs properly.

The songs included here are compiled from multiple dramas, but in terms of expressing complex human emotions, they are all on the same level. When I make the next album, I definitely want to include such songs. Even things that seem simple on the surface, when viewed from different angles, quietly but in conflict and intertwined, these pieces also express more than just a single event or emotion. Darkness and light, wind and warmth. Multiple conflicting crystals [crystals]. These are the songs I have always wanted you to listen to." — Mina Kubota
