Dual Mode Support: Identify Bugging Waves with Two Functions
**Detect Mode**
This function locates the source of bugging radio waves present in a room. You can pinpoint the direction of the incoming radio waves by observing the number of illuminated signal strength indicator LEDs and the changes in the warning sound emitted by the speaker. By adjusting the sensitivity, you can narrow down the distance to the source.
* When using Detect Mode, reactions may occur in empty spaces. This is because radio waves reflect, and you may receive reflected waves even in a location without a transmitter. In such cases, please perform the detection work with the antenna fully retracted.
**Scan Mode**
When radio waves (including bugging waves, public broadcast waves, and radio waves from railways, etc.) are received, the unit emits an identification tone. By identifying the radio waves containing this identification tone, you can determine the presence of a bugging device.
If Scan Mode detects bugging waves, it will automatically switch to Voice Mode, allowing you to listen to the received audio through the speaker.
* When using Scan Mode, public broadcasts may be received, which is not an abnormality. This is more likely to occur when there are many incoming radio waves. If you receive a public broadcast, please ignore it and press the scan button again to resume Scan Mode.
* When bugging waves are received in Scan Mode, it automatically switches to Voice Mode. The Voice Mode of the Bug Chaser EX differs from its reception function. The audio may be interrupted if you move away from the source or if the detected radio wave is weak.
* If radio waves containing identification tone information are not detected, the unit will repeatedly scan or emit identification tones. These operations will continue unless manually stopped.
Wide Scanning Frequency
The scanning frequency band covers 50 to 2,000 MHz (sensitivity decreases above 1,000 MHz). It is tuned to support VHF and UHF transmitters, which are the main frequencies used by bugging devices.
