インテークマニホールドガスケットとは、インテークマニホールドとシリンダーヘッドとの間の部品のガスケットの事で空気と冷却水の漏れを防ぐ大事な役目があります。
エンジンパワーが低下してしまう原因には、インテークマニホールドやインテークマニホールドガスケットの劣化が考えられます。
エンジンとキャブレターをつなぐ吸気管のパーツがインテークマニホールドと呼ばれ、各気筒にごとに取り付けされています。
ここに劣化が起こるとエンジンの不具合が発生し、始動性は変わらないがアイドリングが安定しない、高回転でトルクが薄くなる、回転の下がり方が遅い、エンジンが焦げた臭いがする等の現象が感じられるようになります。
耐久性のある純正パーツとはいえゴム製の為、いづれ経年劣化しヒビ割れを起こします。
劣化したひび割れから空気を吸い（2次エア）混合比が狂ってエンジン不調になることがあります。
劣化したガスケットは放置しておくと、混合気が薄くなりエンジンブローを起こす場合がありますので細心の注意が必要です。
ガスケットを純正部品で揃えると高額になってしまいますので、リーズナブルな高品質の社外品で丸ごと新品に交換がお勧めです。
新品に交換後は新車の状態に戻ったエンジンの吹け上がりの良さを体感できます。
