This is a universal aftermarket part for Kawasaki KZ900 Z1 regulator rectifier.
Compatible models: Kawasaki Z1 (900SUPER4) Z2 (750RS/Z750FOUR), etc. Please check the coupler shape of your vehicle yourself.
The role of the regulator is to rectify electricity and control the voltage to a constant level.
Since it is a part that is weak to heat, it is cooled by fins to dissipate heat.
If installed in a place where wind does not reach, it may not be able to dissipate heat, causing heat to build up, degrade, and break.
It is very important to install it in a well-ventilated place.
If it breaks, voltage control will become impossible, leading to problems such as undercharging and overvoltage.
If you experience symptoms such as inability to charge properly, headlight bulbs burning out easily, battery degrading quickly and needing frequent charging, or if it's an open battery, the starter motor failing or emitting a strange odor, or the normal battery lifespan ending, it is suspected that the regulator has failed.
If you leave the failure unattended, light bulbs will frequently burn out, and even a normal battery may leak fluid, shortening the lifespan of other parts and causing them to break.
In many cases, overcurrent and overcharging occur due to regulator failure, so it is important to repair it promptly.
If it fails to charge due to malfunction, the motorcycle will not start at all and will become immobile.
