SKYE is a special band formed by Shigeru Suzuki (guitar), Rei Obara (bass), Tatsu O Hayashi (drums), and Masataka Matsutoya (keyboards), who have been leading the Japanese music scene since the dawn of Japanese rock. Reunited in 2019, they gained attention as the "world's oldest major new band," and successfully held their first solo tour in 2022. The title "Collage" means a creative technique that constructs works by combining various materials with different properties and logics. The album features 14 tracks, including new songs created by each member based on 70s music, as well as "radio," which became a topic as the FM COCOLO spring campaign song in 2023. The jacket features an illustration and a collage of diverse materials, symbolizing the title "Collage," with an impressive design. The Billboard Live shows held from July to August are a record release tour, with support musicians Hikari Ichihara (tp), Kaori Kobayashi (sax), and Itsumi Komano (tb) joining as a "girls" horn section, and many songs from the new album are scheduled to be performed. While attending Aoyama Gakuin High School, formed "SKYE" with Shigeru Suzuki and Tatsu O Hayashi, where he first played bass. Joined "Sadistic Mika Band" in 1972. Later moved to the U.S., participated in "Ian McLagan Band." Performed with Ron Wood, Keith Richards, Jim Keltner, Bonnie Raitt, etc. Returned to Japan for Ryuichi Sakamoto's tour. Married Ami Ozaki in 1997. Since then, actively involved in projects such as the rock duo "The Renaissance" formed with Gota Yashiki, and collaborations with Tami Maki, Akiko Yano, Ami Ozaki, etc. Released solo album "Picarasque" in 1988, which was selected as the year's best album by rock magazines. ■Shigeru Suzuki (Suzuki Shigeru) Born December 20, 1951, in Tokyo. Later renamed "Tin Pan Alley," working with artists like Yumi Arai, Yoshitaka Minami, Minako Yoshida, Ayumi Ishida, Eiichi Ohtaki, Akiko Yano, Tadashi Koshka, Izumi Yukimura, etc. Active in bands such as "Parachute" and "Aragon" in the 1970s, paused music activities in the mid-1980s. Resumed activity in 1996 with "Yumi Arai The Concert with old Friends."
