The oil is light and has excellent pourability, with the feature of being less prone to burning even when fried at 180°C.

1. Use of Non-GMO Raw Rapeseed
Japan imports approximately 2.4 million tons of rapeseed annually.The main importers are Canada and Australia, with about 90% being genetically modified (GMO) rapeseed (93% from Canada, 22% from Australia).(※) Until 1997, the company used Canadian rapeseed, but after GMO cultivation began there, it switched to Australian rapeseed.However, as GMO cultivation also started in Australia, the company now contracts with farmers who grow non-GMO crops and purchases only rapeseed that is managed separately at each stage of cultivation and distribution (IP handling).
2. Aiming to Increase Domestic Production and Self-Sufficiency
Domestic rapeseed production has recovered to over 3,000 tons annually.It is a useful crop that requires little effort to cultivate and improves the growth and yields of other crops in the same fields.However, without a market for it, production cannot increase.The company purchases and presses about 70% of domestic rapeseed (2,250 tons), supporting farmers and striving to improve self-sufficiency.
3. No Use of Chemical Synthetic Agents or Food Additives in Manufacturing
Typical salad oils are produced using both pressing and extraction methods.Extraction involves the use of n-hexane (a petroleum product) to dissolve residual oil from the raw material after pressing as much as possible.Refining usually involves chemicals such as phosphoric acid, oxalic acid, caustic soda, and activated white clay for efficient purification.
In contrast, the company uses only mechanical pressing and refines the oil with a patented hot-water washing method, without adding silicone (antifoaming agents) or other chemicals.
※ Depending on the quality of the raw seeds, natural citric acid, activated carbon, and acidic white clay (raw clay) may be used in the refining process.
Nutritionally Balanced Plant Oil: "Rapeseed Oil"
Oil is composed of multiple fatty acids. Commonly known fatty acids include oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, and medium-chain fatty acids.
All these fatty acids are beneficial to the human body. Due to media influence, intake can be skewed, but there are desirable ratios.According to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, it is recommended to consume fatty acids in the order of ω-9 > ω-6 > ω-3.(※) Olive oil is rich in oleic acid but contains very little linolenic acid.Recently, media coverage has highlighted perilla oil, which has the least amount of oleic acid that should be consumed.Coconut oil contains too little oleic acid and essential fatty acids.
