2019年7月19日(金)より全国公開される新海誠監督の新作『天気の子』のサウンドトラックでもある、RADWIMPSの最新作。映画『天気の子』予報(予告篇)映像で使用されている主題歌5曲(「愛にできることはまだあるかい」、「グランドエスケープ (Movie edit) feat.三浦透子」、「風たちの声 (Movie edit)」、「祝祭 (Movie edit) feat.三浦透子」、「大丈夫 (Movie edit)」)+劇伴26曲、全31曲収録。『君の名は。』に続く、新海監督とRADWIMPSとの再タッグとなる今作では、新たな試みとして、気鋭の女性ボーカルを起用。
「僕ではない誰か女性の声で歌が入ってほしい」というRADWIMPS野田洋次郎の発案の元、1年ほどにも及ぶ期間をかけて、この映画の世界観を表現できる女性ボーカルを選定するオーディションの結果、若手実力派として高い評価を得ている女優の三浦透子(みうら とうこ)が選ばれた。新海監督とRADWIMPSは前作と同様に脚本段階から密にミーティングを重ね、前作以上に緻密で妥協のない作業が繰り返された。
映画の大切なシーンでRADWIMPSが書き下ろした主題歌5曲、劇中音楽が使用され、主人公・帆高とヒロイン・陽菜2人の心情を表現するかのように、RADWIMPSのメロディー、野田洋次郎と三浦透子の歌声が、美しく繊細に描かれた新海ワールドに彩りを添える。
