About the artists
Yuu Kawamura (Soprano): Graduated from the National Music University. Completed the opera course at the graduate school of the National Music University. Performed in numerous concerts in Perugia, Italy.
Yuki Takeda (Soprano): Graduated from the vocal department of Tokyo University of the Arts. Belongs to Bach Cantata Club. After graduation, she performed early music with groups such as Bach Collegium Japan. Works as a church organist and music teacher.
Yumi Mochizuki (Mezzo-soprano): Graduated top of her class from the CNR at the Paris National Regional Higher Music School in 2001, then specialized in early music ensemble at the Drouot Music Institute in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, receiving a special top prize in 2003. She won 1st place in the 75th Japan Music Competition Vocal Division. She was the first Japanese to win the Grand Prix of the French Song Award at the 4th Toulouse International French Song Competition. Graduated from Karlsruhe University of Music in Germany in March 2009.
Nanako Sekiguchi (Violin): Won 1st place in the Nagoya preliminary of the 50th Student Music Competition Middle School Division in 1996. Graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music, Department of Performance. Completed graduate studies at Toho Gakuen in April 2007. 1st place in the 6th "Great Wall Cup" International Music Competition String Instrument Division in 2004.
Kako Ellis (Clarinet): Graduated from Doshisha Women's University, Department of Performance. During her studies, received the Buffet Crampon Encouragement Award at the European-Japanese Music Lecture. Stayed in Boston from 2005 to 2006, and performed in the Sing Sing Sing concert at Berklee College of Music, which sparked her interest in jazz.
Koto Araki (Piano): Graduated from the Department of Performance at Toho Gakuen School of Music. Studied abroad at Saarbrücken Music University in Germany, then further trained at Liszt Academy of Music in Hungary. Awarded at the Kawai Music Classroom National Competition and selected for the PTTNA Competition.
Mutsumi Sasaki (Composer & Piano): Graduated from the Department of Music at Toho Gakuen School of Music. Completed graduate studies at the same university (both majoring in piano). Became active composing from around age 20, mainly performing original compositions.
Hiroaki Kawanishi (Composer & Piano): From Kagawa Prefecture. Graduated from Musashino Academia of Music, Department of Piano. Studied abroad in the U.S., completed the master's program at New England Conservatory of Music in May 1999. Awarded 4th place in the 9th Yangtze River Cup International Music Competition Piano Division, Open Category.
