A lightweight, full-size, fast, comfortable, high-quality model that thoroughly pursues compactness and lightness, explained by the manufacturer
Features of the kit lens RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM
Lightweight, compact standard zoom lens kit
The RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM is a standard zoom lens with high image quality and compact size achieved through optical design unique to the RF mount. When mounted on the EOS RP, it weighs only about 880g including the battery and card. According to CIPA guidelines, its lightweight design covers a wide range of shooting scenes from wide-angle to telephoto with a single lens. Perfect for everyday use.
Macro shooting feature with distinctive bokeh Center Focus Macro
Equipped with "Center Focus Macro" that allows manual focus (MF) at the shortest shooting distance of 0.13m and maximum magnification of 0.5x at the wide end. It allows you to get close to the subject on the wide side and enjoy a depiction with a large blur around the periphery.

Features of EOS RP High image quality, high-speed autofocus
DISIC 8 Approximately 26.2 million pixels full-size CMOS sensor
Developed and manufactured in-house, equipped with a 26.2 million pixel 35mm full-size CMOS sensor. Pursues high resolution, high sensitivity, and low noise. The full-size sensor's large size maximizes the bokeh effect of the lens. Achieves a wide dynamic range from highlights to shadows and smooth gradation. Also equipped with advanced DIGIC 8, enabling high image processing performance and achieving a standard ISO sensitivity of 40,000. Clear images even at high ISO sensitivities.
High-speed autofocus to avoid missing opportunities Dual Pixel CMOS AF
Dual Pixel CMOS AF is Canon's proprietary AF technology realized by sensors where all pixels perform both imaging and phase difference AF. It allows focusing over a wide area of the imaging surface and can achieve high precision and speed even in scenes where autofocus is generally difficult, such as in dark environments.
During AF, focus is measured within approximately 88mm horizontally and 100mm vertically of the image display area. However, with some lenses, it becomes approximately 80mm horizontally and vertically.
Focusing in darkness Low-light focusing limit EV 5
The low-light focusing limit is EV-5, allowing focus even in conditions close to darkness. When optical finder makes it difficult to confirm the situation, the electronic viewfinder (EVF) provides a clear view for shooting.
Captured under Canon testing standards, F1.2, center focus point, one-shot AF, at room temperature ISO 100. In low-light environments, the EVF frame rate may decrease.
Effective for photographing moving people Eye AF with servo AF support
Equipped with Eye AF that detects the subject's eyes and focuses. The EOS RP supports servo AF and reliably tracks the eyes of moving subjects (people). When shooting with telephoto lenses, it quickly focuses and automatically tracks even for subjects difficult to focus with single-point AF due to camera shake. By default, it automatically selects the closer eye.
1 Face + tracking priority AF functions. When the face and camera are at similar distances, it selects the eye closer to the center of the screen. 2 Manual selection is also possible. You can tap the eye within the face selection frame or move the AF frame using the cross keys and AF frame selection button.

Smart transfer to smartphone and PC
Camera can stay in your bag while you view images on your smartphone, transfer only new images, and connect seamlessly with your devices. Additionally, simply placing the powered-on camera near your PC allows automatic backups.
1 You need to install the "Camera Connect" app on your smartphone and pair it with the camera. 2 You need to install the "Image Transfer Utility 2" app on your PC and pair it with the camera.
The EOS R system unlocks new possibilities for 4K 1 video
The high sensitivity performance of EOS RP and the expressive power of RF lenses expand the range of 4K video expression through the collaboration of two high-quality technologies. Enjoy diverse video expressions with RF lenses and over 70 types of EF lenses, unique to EOS.
Also, powerful image stabilization expands handheld shooting possibilities. When using RF lenses with IS, the camera detects and compensates for shake amounts not fully corrected by lens-based IS, enhancing stabilization.
1 Image processing outputs at 4K UHD resolution. Autofocus is contrast-detection AF. 2 Please check the manufacturer's website for compatible lenses.
