Compact and lightweight, yet a full-fledged high-image-quality camera Manufacturer's description
Advanced technology to enhance shooting performance
Fast image processing and high sensitivity achieved by "1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor"
Cannon's first stacked CMOS sensor. The advantage of "stacked" is that pixel and circuit areas can be formed as separate chips. As a result, pixel areas are optimized for high image quality, and circuit areas for high functionality. This allows simultaneous realization of high image quality and high functionality within a limited sensor size. It also contributes to overall sensor miniaturization. As of July 2019.
Clearly shoot in dark places with "Standard ISO 125 12800 Extended ISO 25600"
With the collaboration of DIGIC 8 and the new sensor, excellent noise reduction is demonstrated. The standard ISO sensitivity is 125 12800, with extended ISO 25600. Even in high sensitivity shooting in night scenes or indoors, it suppresses image graininess for clear and sharp images. Recommended exposure index.
At wide-angle 24mm, telephoto 100mm, 200% progressive fine zoom
Maximum about 30 frames/sec continuous shooting performance. Maintains high image quality.
In RAW burst mode, high-speed continuous shooting at "about 30.0 frames/sec" captures decisive moments without missing them, with high image quality. AF tracking allows shooting at up to about 8.0 frames/sec. In RAW burst mode, including One-Shot AF and pre-shooting, up to about 70 frames.
Records from about 0.5 seconds before pressing the shutter button, called "Pre-shooting." When set to "Pre-shooting" in RAW burst mode, continuous shooting at up to about 30.0 frames/sec is possible from about 0.5 seconds before pressing the shutter. Useful for jump shots, unpredictable animal or natural moments, even if the shutter is pressed late, it backtracks and captures the scene, so you can be assured. Including One-Shot AF and pre-shooting, up to about 70 frames.
Realizes high-definition 4K video recording that fully utilizes wide-angle.
First in G series to enable 4K video recording. With four times the pixels of Full HD, high-definition video recording is possible. Also, it can record with the full angle of view without cropping, making use of the lens's wide-angle characteristics to dynamically record grand scenery or large dance stages.
Easy selfie videos. "Video recording button" inside the monitor
The G7 X Mark III has a video recording button inside the monitor. Rotating the monitor 180 degrees makes the video recording G button easier to press, making selfie videos comfortable. Also, if video recording stops midway, a notification appears on the screen, allowing quick awareness of recording stop. In auto exposure, manual exposure, and HDR video modes.
