WHITNEY/FOREVER TURNED AROUND (LTD/FOREST BARK COLORED VINYL) (LP)
WHITNEY's 2nd album, released for the first time in 3 years! WHITNEY, a Chicago-based indie rock band led by Max Karacek, former guitarist of SMITH WESTERNS, and Julien Ehrilich, former drummer of SMITH WESTERNS and also a member of UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA, will release their new album "Forever Turned Around," their first in three years since their debut album "Light Upon the Lake."
This work was produced through multiple sessions based on songs written during the tour following the release of the previous album. Jonathan Rado (Weyes Blood, Father John Misty), who also produced the previous album, and Bradley Cook (Hand Habits, Hiss Golden Messenger), who newly joined, contributed to the song arrangements.
Additionally, Ziyad Asrar, WHITNEY's original rhythm guitarist, participated in this work, and sessions were held at his basement studio in Chicago where "Light Upon the Lake" was produced. The reunion with Ziyad and the work in the studio brought very meaningful results for the band, and this series of work led to the completion of the album. The band also invited Chicago musicians Lia Kohl and Macie Stewart of OHMME to participate on strings, and their performance has made the album more colorful.
