You can make 10 pieces of thick char cloth simply by placing the can directly over a flame. 【What is Char Cloth?】 Char cloth is a traditional tinder material, and it is one of the representative materials used to create an ember from weak sparks, such as those from flint. By breaking up the red-hot char cloth and wrapping it in tinder like hemp, then blowing air into it or fanning it, the temperature rises and it ignites, which can then be used to start a campfire. 【How to Make Char Cloth】 Place the can directly over a flame. Household gas stoves may shut off due to temperature sensing, so we recommend using an outdoor stove or campfire. Smoke (combustion gas) will begin to emit, but continue the process. With sufficient heat, the smoke coming out of the can will ignite. This is a normal phenomenon. Visually, the can may appear to be burning. The lid may become heat-deformed and open; do not panic, use a stick or branch to close the lid. Once the combustion gas stops, let it cool completely by natural cooling and then open the lid. If the cloth has turned completely black, it is complete. When using as tinder, we recommend tearing it into small pieces. 【Caution】 *Please be careful of burns while making char cloth. *If the lid is opened before sufficient cooling after removing from the heat, the char cloth may ignite (redden). Immediately close the lid and extinguish the fire.
