It was truly straightforward. At the last live, until the very final moment, Michelle continued to run without changing from usual. No need for MC. They overwhelmed and convinced the audience with only singing and playing. Their style also remained unchanged throughout. Such realism can be said to have brought immense support from rock fans. It is probably a disbandment born from their uncompromising 'straightforwardness,' but it is truly regrettable. Because they were one of the few entities capable of shaking up Japan's boring rock scene. After 13 years since formation, the four who burned out reached the 'end' and left the stage with a bright expression. This DVD captures that scene without omission. Detailed Description
Michelle Gun Elephant ended their 12-year glorious history with the live at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on October 11. This work fully captures that final live footage.
While it’s nice that the setlist covers their representative, hit, and popular songs (which can also serve as an introduction for those who don’t know much about Michelle), the most striking aspect is how, in front of an audience that is openly emotional and saying 'this is the end,' the four members perform in a somewhat detached, usual manner. Their performance is incredibly vivid. Of course, the tense, nerve-wracking atmosphere during the performance, each song giving goosebumps, is also extraordinarily cool. While maintaining roots in punk, pub rock, psychobilly, and other core genres, they became a presence that fundamentally changed the way Japanese rock is perceived.
