First-ever LIVE DVD & Blu-ray Disc release in the band's history!!
■ After concluding the live house tour “BUMP OF CHICKEN 2011-12 TOUR ‘GOOD GLIDER TOUR’” at the end of January 2012, the band launched a nationwide arena tour, “BUMP OF CHICKEN 2012 TOUR ‘GOLD GLIDER TOUR’”. Starting from the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 9, 10, and 11 in Chiba on April 7, and ending with the final performance at Sekisui Heim Super Arena in Miyagi on July 14, the tour consisted of 13 cities, 20 performances, and approximately 200,000 attendees, making it a large-scale tour.
■ All performances sold out, and it has been decided to release the Tokyo National Yoyogi First Gymnasium performance (2012/7/3) from the latter half of the tour as the band’s first live video work! The band performed passionately across various locations, and their intense energy is directly packaged in this release. In addition to the members’ performances, the opening video, produced by director Takashi Yamazaki—famous for the “Always Sanchome no Yuhi” series and created in collaboration with the late French manga artist Jean Giraud, known by the pen name Moebius—, as well as live drawings such as “Smile” by renowned manga artist Takehiko Inoue (famous for “Slam Dunk” and “Bakabond”), and many other PVs directed by Shuichi Banba, who has worked on numerous BUMP OF CHICKEN videos, make this release exceptionally rich and unique.
■ Additionally, both the DVD and Blu-ray Disc limited first editions include a luxurious photo booklet featuring live photos taken by photographer Hajime Hirama.
■ Like the live footage, this will be the band’s first attempt to release live sound recordings on CD. The tracklist is yet to be decided, but it is planned to include full-length versions (about 70 minutes) of major hit singles performed live.
■ The entire package—video, photos, jacket, and live CD—conveys the live’s passion directly, offering a valuable experience to feel the “now” of the four members in their 13th year since debut.
