Master Gendo (right) was a Chinese monk who taught the foundational teachings of Jodo Shu, and is enshrined on the right side of the upper part of the altar.
Honen Shonin (left) was the founder of Jodo Shu, and is enshrined on the left side of the upper part of the altar.
