Detailed description
Dire Straits' fifth album is a work from the CD transition period. Therefore, depending on personal preference, the level and technique are not particularly outstanding. However, upon actually listening, that is not the case. Of course, some works have become outdated. Mark Knopfler's 'Money For Nothing', which sarcastically comments on the MTV generation, is an example. However, the swing of 'Walk Of Life' is wonderful. Fairly speaking, there are fewer negative points. Later, indie bands like Gomez and Spiritualized were influenced, and covers of works by JJ Cale and Dr. John were made. Knopfler feels like a familiar presence. The origins of beautiful works like 'So Far Away' and 'Why Worry' can be easily understood. Peter Paphides
