Introducing a simple Edwardian toast rack.
This is a popular and classic piece of British silverware. It is a silver item designed to hold thinly sliced bread for breakfast. It seems to have been invented to keep toast crispy, as placing freshly toasted bread on a plate can make it soggy.
The slot width for toast is 1.2cm. Thin bread slices, such as 12-cut (1.0cm thick), will fit. This is an essential item for enjoying a British-style breakfast.
It is also a suitable size to be used as a napkin holder. Some people use it as desk ware, such as a card holder or letter rack.
We have the same design available from the same workshop. There are two types: one from 1907 (h) and one from 1909 (k). The sizes and conditions are almost identical. Both are in very good condition.
