BRITASWEDEN is a textile brand established in 2010 by a mother and her two daughters, Margaretha, Pia, and Monica. The brand name "BRITA" is derived from the name of Margaretha's grandmother, who was a craftsperson specializing in weaving, knitting, and screen printing in Tornedalen, near the border of Sweden and Finland.
In 2007, the company started with creating everyday items such as organic bedding, aprons, and tablecloths to brighten daily life. In 2009, they gained popularity with their plastic rugs, and the family business began to take off. In 2010, BRITASWEDEN was officially founded. Today, they produce rugs using not only natural materials like wool and cotton but also eco-friendly materials such as plastic foil and recycled PET. They also operate as a design studio.
BRITASWEDEN's designs are inspired by the rich natural scenery of Scandinavia, memories of Tornedalen from their childhood, and incorporate natural shapes and colors, reflecting their gentle perspective.
