BRITASWEDEN is a textile brand established in 2010 by a mother and her two daughters, Margaretha, Pia, and Monica. The brand name "BRITA" is derived from the name of Margaretha's grandmother, who was a craftsperson specializing in textiles, knitting, and screen printing in Tornedalen (Torné Valley), near the border of Sweden and Finland.
In 2007, the company started with creating everyday items such as organic bedding, aprons, and tablecloths to enrich daily life. In 2009, they gained popularity with their plastic rugs, which helped establish the business. In 2010, BRITASWEDEN was officially born. Today, they produce rugs using not only natural materials like wool and cotton but also eco-friendly materials such as plastic foil and recycled PET. They also operate as a design studio.
BRITASWEDEN’s designs are inspired by the rich natural scenery of Scandinavia, especially the landscapes and memories of Tornedalen from their childhood. Their designs incorporate natural shapes and colors, reflecting their gentle perspective.
