BRITASWEDEN is a textile brand founded in 2010 by mother Margaretha and her daughters Pia and Monica. The brand name "BRITA" is derived from the name of Margaretha's grandmother, who was a craftswoman skilled in weaving, knitting, and screen printing in Tornedalen, located near the border of Sweden and Finland. The company started in 2007, creating items to enrich everyday life such as organic bedding, aprons, and tablecloths. In 2009, they began producing plastic rugs, which became popular and helped the family business gain momentum.
BRITASWEDEN was born in 2010. Currently, they offer rugs made not only from natural materials like wool and cotton but also from eco-friendly materials such as plastic foil and recycled PET, while also operating as a design studio. BRITASWEDEN's designs incorporate shapes and colors from nature, inspired by the rich Nordic landscape and memories of their childhood in Tornedalen, reflecting their gentle perspective.
