It is a genuine mokugyo made from fine-grained, hard, and resilient Zelkova (Tzuke) wood, but it is offered in a compact size that can be easily used at home.
It is ideal for chanting at home Buddhist altars.
It is said that the basic method is to strike once for each kanji character of the sutra to produce sound.
Since it is made from natural wood, each piece has a different grain and color.
