The Japanese name for blue lace agate is "Sorairo Shima-manou" (sky-colored striped agate).
Agate with fine stripes in a light blue color is called "Blue Lace" (or Blue Lace Agate).
Stones of a similar color but without stripes are called "Blue Chalcedony."
Agate and Chalcedony are stones with the same composition; those with stripes are distinguished as agate, and semi-transparent stones without stripes are distinguished as chalcedony.
