Introduction
Morisaka Global has been a well-loved kawaii plushie brand since 1997 and they just keep bringing joy with their new plushies. They often come out with adorable new animals for fans to add to their collection and in just 2023 alone, they released 9 new animals!
But did you know that some of those animals were limited edition ZenPlus or ZenPop releases? That means they are sold exclusively on ZenPlus/ZenPop, and you can’t get them anywhere else!
Let’s take a look at which limited editions have been released so far.
ZenPlus Exclusives
1. Mochi Boar
The Mochi Boars originally could only be obtained from crane games in America. But they were so popular that we were able to bring them back as a ZenPlus exclusive! And they also come in pink, a color that was never available in the past.
2. Devil & Angel Otters
We asked Morisaka Global fans on what kind of themed animal they would like to see, and the devil and angel theme had an outstanding amount of votes! We were able to make it happen, and they were a hit - devil otters sold out almost immediately, and angel otters, while some stock remains, are also close to selling out.
They both feature unique aspects never seen in previous otters.
The devil otter has a trident, small horns, and comes in a black tone, while the angel otter is a gray and white mix with sky blue eyes, has a star, halo, and even wings!
These small accents add to the uniqueness of these editions.
The devil otter is sold out individually but can still be purchased in sets with the Mochi Boar, which is a great chance to get both ZenPlus exclusives in one go! The Angel otter can still be purchased both individually and in sets.
ZenPop
ZenPop is a subscription box service under the same ZenGroup umbrella, and they had a few Morisaka Global collaborations, namely the Sakura Otter and Halloween Otter.
1. Sakura Otter
The Sakura Otter, in a pale pink color and an adorable sakura flower embroidered on the tummy area, was sold in a ZenPop box along with various other goodies, and they sold out immediately.
2. Halloween Otter
Released during the Halloween 2023 season, these vampire Halloween Otters are a unique orange and purple color with a cape, hat, and small fangs. The orange and purple colors are not the typical orange and black color combo that many people may be familiar with for Halloween season, but this color combination is symbolic in Japan and often used because they resemble sweet potatoes, a treat usually eaten during the fall season.
