Billy Joel has finally returned to Japan! After 16 years since 2008, this is a highly anticipated one-night-only concert at Tokyo Dome! The footage captures the performance mainly with two types of cameras, including close-up shots with good focus, stable shots from slightly left of stage, and a bold mix of multiple angles, all recorded in HD quality with energetic audience footage on Blu-ray. Additionally, a DVD-R version of the footage is included.
The concert opens with a powerful rendition of "My Life" from Symphony No. 9, followed by the joyful performance of "The Entertainer" from the 1974 album "Street Sernade." A youthful Billy, claiming he's not Mick Jagger, confidently sings "Start Me Up." There is a rare performance of "The Stranger" exclusive to Japan. The warm-up for "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" leads into a solid a cappella version of "The Longest Time," which is truly breathtaking.
"Honesty" is performed early, and the setlist is packed with classics like "Allentown," "Say Goodbye To Hollywood," and "Only The Good Die Young." Billy's voice is remarkably strong—like during his peak years! The energy remains high throughout the latter part of the concert with performances of "Uptown Girl," "Big Shot," and the spectacular "You May Be Right," during which Zeppelin's "Rock And Roll" also makes an appearance. This concert is destined to become a legendary highlight in Billy Joel's career!
