Celebrating the 5th anniversary since debut, the 1966 QUARTET's first best album is now available with a DVD!
The 1966 Quartet, formed in 2010 and debuting with a CD, is based on the concept of 'Becoming classical versions of The Beatles.'
They expanded their cover repertoire to include Queen and Michael Jackson, and while rooted in classical, they enhanced their unit's individuality with a rock-like sharpness and spirit. They returned to The Beatles in 2013.
In 2014, they successfully recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the sacred place of The Beatles, and performed live at the Caravan Club, further deepening their musicality as a unit.
As a culmination of their 5 years since CD debut, they are releasing their first best album (with DVD). The album features their signature numbers often performed at concerts, as well as songs where each member is featured solo. The CD is packed with a total of 26 songs, filling the entire recording time, including many special tracks beyond just a compilation of past recordings. It contains numerous unreleased tracks, and four re-recordings of songs from their debut album, which showcase the growth of 1966 Quartet over five years, are expected to attract fans' attention.

The DVD includes a performance of 'Rock and Roll Music' from their concert at Oji Hall, Ginza, Tokyo, on June 17, 2014.
Additionally, a full-length discussion among the four members (about 20 minutes) is included.
As a 5th-anniversary celebration, a fan-participation event using crowdfunding, ~Thank U for the 5th anniversary Party~ with the 1966 Quartet, is scheduled for October 10, 2015. Eleven supporters of the 'Hey Jude Course' and '1966 Course' participated as guest chorus members in M25 'Hey Jude' via crowdfunding.
