Ships within 1-5 business days [New, Unopened Item] A video message from Avril has arrived!! CHECK!! "Message from Avril" The new album's title is "The Best Damn Thing". The first single is "Girlfriend". I'm sure everyone will love it! I love it too. It's a song with a sense of speed, fun, energy, power, confidence, and full of vitality. The new album is packed with songs that will be incredibly fun to perform live. I kept that in mind when writing the songs. The experience from my last tour was very helpful in writing songs this time. As an artist, I spend a lot of time touring, so I wanted to create songs that are fun to play live. Songs that are fun for both the fans and myself! [Product Description] The first single "Girlfriend" is a super upbeat, punkish rock tune that energetically shouts, "I'll be your girlfriend, and you'll definitely be happy!" The producer is Dr. Luke (Backstreet Boys, P!NK, Kelly Clarkson, etc.), a good friend of Avril's and a super popular producer, with whom she also collaborated on "Keep Holding On". It's a completely new and powerful Avril sound, an upbeat rock track reminiscent of her first single "Sk8er Boi," with a touch of rap essence added! It's a new girls' anthem that will make you want to sing and dance along as soon as you hear it! In the music video, Avril shows off her dancing for the first time! Also, "When You're Gone," a beautiful and poignant ballad that touches the heart, produced by the talented producer Butch Walker, who also produced the second single from her second album, and the album title track "The Best Damn Thing," are both powerful tracks with the pop sensibility, catchiness, and Avril-ness to be first singles. Two songs (Track 10 One Of Those Girls and Track 11 Contagious) are included, produced by Deryck Whibley (SUM41), Avril's life partner, whom she married in June 2006 (this third album is her first album release after her marriage). (Deryck also plays guitar on three songs on the album!) Avril, who openly talks about being "the happiest ever!" in the media after her marriage, has created her best work yet, fully reflecting her current peak in life as a person, a woman, and an artist. Furthermore, the album includes "Keep Holding On," the theme song for the adventure epic "Eragon," which was released nationwide in Japan as a major New Year's film in December 2006. She was approached by the film company and wrote the song based on her feelings after reading the movie's script, saying that this new songwriting style was "very challenging and a great learning experience as a songwriter," and she delivered a grand and beautiful ballad that is in no way inferior to the epic scale of the movie. She also mentions that beautiful ballads are included in the album, saying, "I was able to write those songs because I truly felt that way when I wrote them." On the other hand, Rob Cavallo, who has worked with Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and The Goo Goo Dolls, is also listed as a producer (Track 8 Innocence), resulting in a more diverse content than ever before! ■The Japanese edition includes the music video for "Girlfriend" (Enhanced)!! Media Reviews and More Girls' pop/rock super idol is back! Avril, who had been active as a model and actress, releases her third album, her first in nearly three years. It includes the incredibly catchy "Girlfriend," "Keep Holding On" from the movie "Eragon," and more.
