Following their hit "Beautiful Days" at independent record stores, here is the long-awaited new single from Belinda May! Belinda May is a shoegaze dream pop band based in Nagoya.
This is their long-awaited new single, released as a double A-side, their first since "Beautiful Days" in 2019!
After releasing their first single "Beautiful Days," they paused live activities due to the pandemic and shifted their focus to music production. In 2021, they released the single "Lemonade" digitally and performed an acoustic set at the online festival "All Our Friends" hosted by Alternatrip in the Philippines. They also held a studio live stream on Facebook Live hosted by Our Secret World & Shiny Happy Records in Indonesia. They have received much love from early adopters of indie pop worldwide, and the high quality of their music has been highly praised.
"Our Summer Days/Dreams," their second 7-inch single from Fastcut Records, features two English-language songs recorded with their new lineup, including new vocalist harada.
"Our Summer Days" is a masterpiece led by nostalgic arpeggio guitar, reminiscent of jangly indie pop from the Sarah Records/Pains era.
Coupled with "Dreams," an energetic track where tight rhythms, repetitive guitar riffs, and lead guitar fantastically intertwine.
The songs subtly evoke the sweet and melancholic melodies of classic Japanese pop, which are the roots of songwriter nakamura (guitar/vocal), blending the nostalgic sounds of 80s neo-acoustic and 90s shoegaze with the sparkling brilliance of contemporary dream pop.
This release is a collection of songs that truly showcase their signature style.
The artwork features a piece by American photographer Alicia Bock, capturing a scene that feels like a still from a coming-of-age film.
