- ORIGINAL SESSION MASTERS
[1CD] DIGITAL ARCHIVES PROMOTION DAPB054CD1

This is the first appearance of a complete album faithfully reproduced from the original session recordings of the latest remastered "Let It Be" album, using the original session source tapes.

"Let It Be," released in May 1970 as the Beatles' final album, was initially produced in March 1969 under the working title "Get Back." Although production began then, the album "Abbey Road" was released earlier in the timeline. The "Let It Be" sessions underwent numerous changes, including overdubs and re-edits overseen by producer Phil Spector, leading to its release in 1970. In 2003, a remix titled "Let It Be... Naked" was released, presenting the album in its "original sound." However, that remix involved re-editing from multiple sources and differed from the original recordings, so it was not truly "naked."

This release offers a completely authentic "naked" version of the original sound, reconstructed from session masters without overdubs or processing. The first half features "Real Naked Stereo Masters," arranged in the same track order as the original album. Tracks like "Across the Universe" and "I Me Mine" are sourced from the Get Back sessions, with the original mono Nagra tapes, which include some noise and a beep sound used for video purposes. Through meticulous restoration—including noise reduction and multiple tape transfers—the latest remastering separates vocals and instruments into individual tracks, creating a high-quality, true "real naked" stereo sound unlike any before.

The second half, titled "Remixes and Remasters," features remastered versions based on the 1992 remix of the "Let It Be" film soundtrack, overseen by Ron Furmanek. These include remixes by Glyn Johns and John Barrett, with additional remixing work compared to the earlier version.

By comparing these two versions—each with different editing, stereo mixes, and remastering qualities—listeners can appreciate the differences, making this a valuable reference for audio research.

This is a 2020 collector's edition, offering a new alternate version of the "Let It Be" album to celebrate its 50th anniversary!

- ORIGINAL REEL MASTERS
[1CD] DIGITAL ARCHIVES PROMOTION DAPB055CD1

This release features the ultimate analog master source—rare open reel tapes—fully including both the US original stereo and UK original mono versions of the "Let It Be" album.

"Let It Be," released in May 1970 as the Beatles' final album, was originally produced during a period when the industry was transitioning from mono to stereo. At that time, the "Let It Be" and "Abbey Road" albums were only released in stereo; mono versions were not issued. In addition to the standard records, open reel tapes were produced in various countries, with the UK releasing both stereo and mono tapes simultaneously. Although reel-to-reel tapes are less common today, they are highly valued among audiophiles and collectors, often fetching high prices at auctions.

This release is a direct transfer from the original tapes, digitized with minimal noise reduction, capturing the authentic sound of the original analog source. It includes both the US Ampex stereo reel-to-reel tape and the UK EMI mono reel-to-reel tape, offering a rare opportunity to experience the album's true analog sound. The UK mono tapes are especially noteworthy because they are not simply fold-downs of the stereo mix but are authentic mono mixes from the original tapes, with unique track orderings.

The original tapes have been newly digitized, with only noise reduction applied to ensure the highest quality. The packaging includes photos of the actual US and UK reel tapes' backsides, adding to its collectible value. This is an essential item for fans and collectors of the final Beatles album.
