★ This collection features a best-edited, chronological compilation focusing on performances with long conversations and fragmented songs excluded, centered on rehearsals and sessions held at Twickenham Studios where the film "LET IT BE" was shot!★ All tracks are recorded from the existing Nagra reel mono audio sources of the A-roll and B-roll footage, converted into real stereo versions through the latest digital analysis!★ This is the definitive release of rehearsal sessions with upgraded remastered sound, different from the numerous previous session recordings, offering a clear and accessible overview of the early "Get Back Sessions"!
The latest compilation of the "Get Back Sessions," which formed the basis of The Beatles' final album "LET IT BE" in January 1969, is now available as the "Twickenham Studio" edition, following the previously released "Apple Studio" edition.
The "Get Back Sessions" began on January 2, 1969, at Twickenham Film Studios and continued until January 16. Afterwards, from January 21 to 31, the sessions moved to Apple Corps headquarters, where they continued with keyboardist Billy Preston and engineer Glyn Johns, culminating in the legendary rooftop concert on January 30.
This "ESSENTIAL TWICKENHAM MASTERS" set includes the earlier part of the sessions, prior to the "Complete Apple Masters" release, and provides a straightforward overview of the vast existing "Get Back Sessions" recordings. Although Twickenham Studio recordings are primarily mono from Nagra tapes used for filming, they are presented here in newly analyzed real stereo versions.
The content is carefully selected to exclude incomplete, fragmented performances, long studio chats, and silent parts, focusing instead on the most interesting and complete performances. The sessions at Twickenham, initially perceived as somewhat scattered and rehearsal-focused, include early versions of original songs, favorite rock and roll covers, self-covers of Beatles songs, tracks by Bob Dylan, avant-garde jam sessions, and more—many of which are rare and noteworthy.
Like the "Apple Studio" edition, this collection is delivered in a voluminous 8-disc set (volumes 1 through 4, each with 2 CDs), making it a must-have for Beatles collectors interested in the early "Get Back" sessions at Twickenham Studio!
