On September 1, 2025, at the Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, a one-night-only performance by the superband BEAT, which exclusively performs the 1980s repertoire of King Crimson, was completely recorded using IN EAR MONITOR sound sources and high-quality master recordings in a matrix soundboard format to create a pseudo-stereo sound.
The recording features outstanding stereo imaging, capturing each delicate note with precision and providing a three-dimensional, superb sound quality.
The band consists of Adrian Belew and Tony Levin from the original King Crimson lineup, along with guitar master Steve Vai and Danny Carey, the drummer from Tool, forming a quartet that delivered an astonishing performance.
Selected tracks from three of King Crimson’s 1980s albums—*Discipline*, *Beat*, and *Three of a Perfect Pair*—were performed by these four exceptional musicians, brilliantly expressing complex music. This emotionally moving and magnificent one-night-only Budokan concert can be enjoyed in superb sound quality.
