The BattleTech Tactical Handbook was the first expansion for the BattleTech board game, and it contained optional rules and equipment for so-called Level 3 rules.
These rules included the infamous Battle Value system for balancing forces and the Double-Blind rules, which allowed players and game masters to use hidden units on both sides.
Numerous new weapons, armor, and ammunition were introduced.
Some of the equipment and rules were later incorporated into Maximum Tech.
