彼は1964年、鳥取県三朝町に生まれ、奈良教育大学で美術を学びました。
卒業後、椅子のデザイン会社に就職してからは、木製の椅子作りがライフワークになりました。
2013年、ふるさとに帰省し、アトリエを構える。 家具は生活の道具であると考え、シンプルで実用的な椅子やテーブルの新作に取り組まれている。広葉樹の硬い木材を使った家具はもちろん、一般的に手に入れやすい針葉樹の材料を工夫し、椅子には不向きとされる針葉樹材を無駄を省いて見事に形にされている。
