Uses the same driver as the higher-end model. Recommended entry-level open-back monitor headphones with high completeness.

The 'ATH-R50x' is an open-back monitor headphone from Audio-Technica equipped with the same 45mm driver as the higher-end 'ATH-R70xa'. It is also designed with the concept of 'True Open Air' audio, pursued by the company's open-back models.

The tone quality maintains a balanced monitor-like sound with uniform imaging and a slightly bright, punchy tone. As a monitor, it may reveal detailed tonal nuances upon quick listening. Also, compared to the higher model, it has a lower impedance, making it usable in various environments. The cable is single-sided, which offers ease of handling.

Additionally, the difference from the higher model ATH-R70xa is the adoption of a head top pad, providing a different fit. Personally, I found the ATH-R50x to fit my head shape more comfortably.

Faithful sound reproduction and a design intended for long hours of work. An entry-level open-back monitor headphone with a high degree of completeness recommended for professional use.
