A highly refined cartilage conduction earphone. Natural sound as if a small speaker is near the ear.

"ATH-CC500BT2" is the successor to the "ATH-CC500BT," which was the world's first to adopt cartilage conduction. It features improved sound quality and added new sound modes in the compatible app, making it more user-friendly.

Cartilage conduction transmits vibrations by lightly pressing the driver unit against the cartilage part "concha" at the entrance of the external auditory canal. The vibrations are transmitted from the cartilage to the "wall cartilage" of the external auditory canal, vibrating the air inside to produce sound. The unit's housing is compact. Even when wearing glasses, the temples do not press or cause pain. The fit is considered good.

Playing the collab song "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars delivers a fresh, rich, and smooth sound to the ears. While bone conduction headphones give the sensation of sound inside the head, this model's cartilage conduction provides a natural sound as if a small speaker is near the ear.

I tested it at home and outdoors, and by adjusting the app according to the environment, I was able to find sound that matches most scenes. Using the app features to enjoy "differentiation" of sound settings is also a recommended feature.
