For example:* **Iroe (Overglaze Enamel Painting):*** In standard iroe, colors are applied thickly within the outlines. At Kakusaburo Kiln, the technique of light coloring in Western painting is applied to create a subtly nuanced finish.
* **Sometsuke (Blue and White Porcelain):*** In standard sometsuke, the drawing is done with cobalt pigment, then glazed and fired. At Kakusaburo Kiln, the drawing is done on top of the glaze and then fired.* This causes the cobalt pigment to dissolve into the melted glaze, resulting in a very soft finish.* Both of these techniques are very delicate and difficult, and are creations unique to the current generation of the artisan.
