りんごを食べていて、なにげなく娘に「このりんご、どこから来たのかな?」ときいてみると、「忍者が取ってきたんじゃない?」と答えました。子どもはおもしろいことを考えるな~と感心。じゃあ、この絵本のようなりんごの運ばれ方があってもいいのかもしれないな。おうちにりんごがあるときは、ぜひこの絵本を読んでみてください。

この絵本の種は、なんと2008年にありました。幼児絵本『おしり』『よしよし』を描いていただいていたとき、「こんな話も思いついたんだけど……」と三浦さんから提案が。「ぜひぜひ、それもやりましょう!」とすぐ乗り気になった私ですが、たくさんのお仕事を抱えている三浦さんは、なかなか着手できないようでした。それがこの夏に突然、事務所にちょっと打ち合わせに来ませんか?というメール。行ってみると、なんとほぼ完全な形でこの作品が仕上がっていました。「ちょっと考え始めたら楽しくなって、やってしまった」とのこと。うれしくて、ものすごい猛暑のなか、帰りはウキウキな気持ちだったことを覚えています。2008年当時大人気だったゆうこりんは、もうコリン星を封印してしまったそうですが、「~リンコ」はこの絵本が引き継いでいきます! みなさんも、ぜひご唱和ください!
