大戦中はシュトラールズント港に停泊されており、1944年に使用再開。
1945年、進行するソ連軍の拿捕を免れるためにリューゲンの浅瀬に沈められた。
ソ連の命により1947年に引き上げられ、1948-50年に修理。
1951年からソ連海軍の練習船として使用開始。
1970年代までレースや世界一周の航海などに参加。
ソビエト崩壊後、1993年までウクライナ所有となる。
その後、修理など試みるがコストのため断念。
2003年にドイツに返還される。
