Alisan Co., Ltd. began introducing natural foods from overseas to Japan in 1988.
It all started when the founders began importing granola and peanut butter for their own consumption. As word spread among friends living in Japan, the business evolved into its current form.
The company name "Alisan" comes from "Alishan," a mountain in Taiwan and the hometown of the founder's partner, Fay.
Alishan is a place of high altitude and harsh natural environments, yet it is incredibly beautiful. Furthermore, the people living there have a deep appreciation for history and nature; they are hardworking, warm, and live by helping one another.
The company was named "Alisan" out of a desire to create a place like the strong and gentle Alishan that they love.
