The backup power terminal equipped on this product has a maximum capacity of 0.15A.
This terminal was provided to wire the dedicated memory backup power line for older car stereos and clocks.
Recent car electronics products such as car audio and navigation systems have omitted this dedicated backup line, so this product cannot be used with them.
If you connect this product directly to the battery and leave the power switch on, this product will consume standby current, which can cause battery drain if left for a long time.
For car audio and navigation systems, we recommend DT830M, DT830L, or DT831D. The 830 series can draw current up to 10A from the backup terminal, and the 831D can draw current up to 15A.
