The fifth album from Sunstorm, featuring Ronnie Romero as the new vocalist. The theme is a return to the early, melodic, AOR-influenced sound. For this, there's no one more suitable than Ronnie! This is a masterpiece of European melodic hard rock.
Sunstorm originally began as a project centered around vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, known for his work with Rainbow and Deep Purple. The project's origin was demo recordings made for his unreleased second solo album. The debut album "Sunstorm," released in '06, was the realization of these demos. Due to the highly positive reception of this album, Sunstorm continued its activities, consistently releasing albums: "House of Dreams" ('09), "Emotional Fire" ('12), "Edge of Tomorrow" ('16), and "The Road to Hell" ('18). While they played lyrical melodic hard rock in their early days, from the fourth album "Edge of Tomorrow," they adopted a harder sound with Alessandro Del Vecchio as the mastermind.
The fifth album being released now is "Afterlife." Alessandro Del Vecchio returns as producer. However, surprisingly, Joe Lynn Turner does not participate in this album! Taking Joe's place is Ronnie Romero, who is incredibly active with bands like Rainbow, Vandenberg, Michael Schenker Group, and CoreLeoni. The theme of this album is a return to Sunstorm's early, melodic, AOR-influenced sound. With this in mind, the choice of vocalist is understandable. When it comes to singing melodic hard rock, there is no one better than Ronnie. His beautiful voice fits perfectly, as expected, and even far beyond expectations. This is an album that can be called a masterpiece of European melodic hard rock.
