1887年に着工されたエッフェル塔はパリ万博と目玉として1889年3月に完成しました。わずか2年2か月の工期でした。建築物といえば石造りだった時代、ギュスターヴ・エッフェル率いるエッフェル社は、鉄橋の建設でも有名でした。地面から伸びる半円形のアーチ、塔頂に向かって美しい弧を描く外形は、模型設計者として一生に一度はチャレンジしたい仕事となりました（設計期間1年）
【模型要目】
ベルエポックの美しい姿を精密フォトエッチングで再現。立体パズルのように組み上げます。接着剤は使いません。0.2ミリという薄いパーツが組み合わさるごとに強度が増す感覚は、実際に建築しているよう。らせん階段やエレベーターも見ものです。ちょっとしたジョークで、塔頂には身長1.8ミリほどの紳士淑女を再現。土台は重量感あるホワイトメタル製。模型設計の際は試作品を持ってパリ現地取材を敢行。塔の内部も観察&再現しました。
