スピードセンサー（車速センサー）とは現代の車にとって安全に快適に走らせるための非常に重要なパーツです。
車速センサーにより車速を計測しパワステの重さの自動調整、前の車に追従するクルーズコントロール、オートマチック車のシフトチェンジ、正確な速度を表示するスピードメーター等多岐にわたって制御しています。
車速センサーはタイヤが回転するとそれに合わせてスピードセンサーも回転しセンサー内部にある磁石でパルス波を発生しています。
パルス波の信号が何回出たかを一定時間内に測って、速度を計算した数値をスピードメーターに表示させています。
車速センサーは車のブレーキ部分にも関わっている部品ですので、壊れると正常な運転ができなくなります。
エンジンチェックランプの点灯、速度を出していないのにスピードメーターが振り切れる、停車しているのに車が移動しているようにカーナビに表示されたりする、ABSの警告灯が点灯等異変を感じたらすぐに整備工場で点検を受けた方が無難です。
故障が疑われる場合は、アッセンブリーで新品への交換になります。
