1900~1977。青森県出身。昭和6年(1931年)12月門司港より海路、陸路45日間の旅を経て、ドイツに渡りマリイ・ウィグマン舞踊学校に入学。先進的ドイツ流のモダンダンス=ノイエタンツを学ぶ。在学中にベルリン・バッハザールにて舞踊公演を開催し「手術室」「タンゴ」他を発表、高い評価を得る。帰朝後、江口・宮舞踊研究所を設立し、新しい文化、芸術を創造する「新興舞踊」を提唱し洋舞界に新風をもたらす

現代舞踊協会常務理事、日本女子体育大学名誉教授。1968年~2001年金井芙三枝舞踊団主宰、代表作「砂の女」「嵐が丘」「樹魂」。2003年旭日小綬章受章
