慶長の頃より高岡の金屋町にて代々続く、鋳物師・金森彦兵衛の作品です。
喚鐘は、床脇の天井などや喚鐘枠と呼ばれる木製の枠に吊り下げたりして、木槌のような撞木で打ち鳴らして、主に亭主が客に茶席の準備がととのったことを知らせるものです。
高音の喚鐘は陽です。夜の陰に対して、甲高い音のため、夜咄茶事で使用します。
